Barguna travel guide, Barishal Division

Barguna is a coastal district on the Bay of Bengal between the Payra, Bishkhali and Baleshwar rivers, with large reserved mangrove forests along its shore. The Tengragiri Wildlife Sanctuary and the Harin Ghata eco-park at Patharghata protect these forests, and the old Bibi Chini Mosque in Betagi is a heritage landmark. Fishing, shrimp and farming support most families. About 1.01 million people live in roughly 1,831 km² (2022 census).
