ChandpurChandpur stands where the Padma joins the Meghna, with the Dakatia flowing in beside the town. It is widely known as the home of hilsa, the national fish, and its river port is a major landing and trading point for the catch. The Molhead, or Boro Station, at the meeting of the rivers is the town's favourite viewpoint, and the Hajiganj Boro Masjid is a well-known mosque. About 2.64 million people live in roughly 1,645 km² (2022 census), and launches run to Dhaka.
