Magura travel guide, Khulna Division

Magura is a small district in the flat heart of the Ganges delta, between Rajbari, Jhenaidah, Jashore, Narail and Faridpur, about 176 km from Dhaka. The Gorai river and the Gorai Bridge are its main landmarks, and its history includes the indigo cultivation of the colonial era. It is also known as the home district of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan. About 1.03 million people live in roughly 1,039 km² (2022 census).
