Narail travel guide, Khulna Division

Narail is a small river district of the south-west, crossed by the Madhumati, Nabaganga, Bhairab and Chitra. It is closely linked to the painter S M Sultan, famous for his powerful images of farmers, and the ancestral home of the musician Ravi Shankar is at Kalia. Landmarks include Narail Victoria College, founded in 1858, the old zamindar houses of Narail and Kalia, and the Chachuri Beel wetland. About 789,000 people live in roughly 968 km² (2022 census).
