Manikganj travel guide, Dhaka Division

Manikganj lies west of Dhaka where the Padma and Jamuna meet near Aricha and Paturia, long the main ferry crossings toward the south-west. The district is dotted with zamindar houses, the best known being the Baliati Palace in Saturia and the Teota Zamindar Bari with its Navaratna temple in Shivalaya. The Dhaka–Aricha highway links it to the capital. About 1.56 million people live in its roughly 1,384 km² (2022 census).
