Jhenaidah travel guide, Khulna Division

Jhenaidah lies in the south-west between Kushtia and Jashore, bordering West Bengal in India. Its past is visible at Barobazar, where the ruins of Muhammadabad, a mint town of the Bengal Sultanate, include old mosques such as Golakata and Pathagar, and at the Jorbangla Mosque. Today it is a farming district with the Mobarakganj sugar mill and is home to the Islamic University. About 1.77 million people live in roughly 1,965 km² (2022 census).
