DinajpurDinajpur is a large northern district on the border with West Bengal, drained by the Punarbhaba, Atrai and Dhepa rivers. Its famous Kantajew Temple, built between 1704 and 1722, is covered in terracotta panels telling stories from the epics, and the great Ramsagar tank is a favourite outing. Dinajpur is known for fragrant Katharibhog rice and litchis, has coal deposits, and handles trade through the Hili land port. About 3.32 million people live in roughly 3,444 km² (2022 census).
