Nilphamari travel guide, Rangpur Division

Nilphamari is a northern district on the Teesta, bordering Cooch Behar in India. Its name recalls the indigo (nil) farms of the colonial era. Saidpur, in the south of the district, has the region's airport and a railway workshop founded in 1870, and the Chini Mosque is one of its landmarks. Other sights include the Nilsagar tank and the Teesta Barrage area. About 2.09 million people live in roughly 1,581 km² (2022 census).
