Jangalbari Fort stands in Jangalbari village, Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj, and covers about 40 acres. After the Battle of Egarasindhur in 1597, Isa Khan, leader of the Baro-Bhuiyan chiefs of Bengal, took the fort from Laksman Singh Hajra.
The Baro-Bhuiyans are said to have controlled twelve parganas from here. Later, after Musa Khan submitted to the Mughals, the family moved from Sonargaon to Jangalbari, and Isa Khan's descendants lived at the fort.
