About Baba Adam Mosque

Baba Adam's Mosque stands in Qadi Qasbah village, Rampal union, Munshiganj. An Arabic inscription over its central door dates it to 1483, in the reign of Sultan Jalaluddin Fateh Shah of Bengal, and names its builder as Malik Kafur, one of the Sultan's officers. The tomb of Baba Adam Shahid, a 15th-century Muslim preacher, lies close by.

The brick mosque has six identical domes in two rows over two aisles and three bays, carried on pointed arches resting on two slender black basalt pillars decorated with chain-and-bell motifs. It has no minaret. Now a protected monument, it has been restored and is in good condition.
