About Atia Mosque

Atia Mosque is a four-domed Mughal mosque in Atia village, Delduar upazila, about 6 km south of Tangail town, on the east bank of the Louhajang River. An inscription, now in the Bangladesh National Museum, dates it to 1610–11, in the reign of Emperor Jahangir.

It was built by Sayeed Khan Panni, who had been given the Atia pargana, in honour of the Sufi saint Shahan Shah Baba Adam Kashmiri, whose tomb is close by. Damaged by an earthquake in the early 19th century, it was repaired in 1837 and again in 1909, and it is now a protected monument.
