About Banglabandha Zero Point

Banglabandha, at the north-western tip of Bangladesh, is a land port on the border with India, opposite Phulbari. Nepal and Bhutan are close by, separated from Bangladesh only by a narrow strip of Indian territory, the Siliguri Corridor, so the port was planned for trade with all three countries.

It started as a land customs station and was developed as Bangladesh's first export-oriented inland port, with customs, banking, warehouses, police and immigration. Vehicle crossings between Phulbari and Banglabandha began in January 2011.
