Rangamati district guideA hilltop valley with views of clouds and green ridges. It is in Rangamati district, Chattogram Division.
Sajek Valley sits about 550 m (1,800 ft) above sea level in the Kasalong hills of Rangamati district, close to the Mizoram border. It falls in Baghaichhari upazila, inside Sajek Union, the largest union in the country by area, and is often called the "Queen of Hills" for its green ridges and dense forest.
The valley was remote until the Bangladesh Army built a road, and tourism only began in the early 2010s; the number of registered resorts grew from six in 2016 to over eighty by 2020. Most visitors come through Khagrachari and Dighinala, about 70 km away, in shared jeeps known as chander gari. The hill villages, such as Ruilui Para and Konglak Para, are home to Lushai, Pankho, Tripura and other communities.
