About Shahjadpur Kachharibari
Rabindra Kachharibari in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj, was the Tagore family's estate office, bought by Rabindranath's grandfather Dwarkanath Tagore in 1840. Rabindranath often stayed here in the late 1800s and wrote parts of Sonar Tori, Chitra, Chaitali, Bisharjan and Chhinnapatra here; in a letter he said he felt more inspired to write in Shahjadpur than anywhere else.
The seven-room building is now the Rabindra Memorial Museum, displaying his shoes, wooden sandals, a piano, a harmonium and other belongings. Tagore's birthday is celebrated at the house every year.
